Multimatic excited about Daytona

DAYTONA, FL - Multimatic Motorsports has returned from a one year hiatus with no apparent ill effect. Although the team hasn’t campaigned a race car since supporting Hypersports in 2008 with their championship winning Koni Challenge effort, the Canadian organization was back on top of the game within a couple of test sessions on Friday. Despite the #16 Boss302R never having turned a wheel until Friday morning and Multimatic lead driver, Scott Maxwell, having only undertaken limited test driving duties for the past year, the “Mustang Master” left the track fifth quickest at the end of the first day.

Team Principal Larry Holt couldn’t have been happier with Maxwell’s return to regular work: “Max was the least of my worries on Friday, although he was concerned about the possibility of getting rusty. I figured that there was no real chance of that and we were inundated with useful feedback and he was on pace with the regular front runners by the second session. Scott’s workplace is behind the wheel, he spent the last year with his new son Ryan, which is great, but he belongs in a race car. Friday was all about the car. We came away fifth at the end of the day which was pretty credible for a brand new product but that was all we had and from what we saw on-track it was evident that our competitors had plenty in reserve.” ...
