Leslie battles to 15th, after starting 32nd, in 50 lap King of the Crates Sportsman Race

April 26th, 2010 - Port Colborne - After a bad incident causing the first red flag of Merrittville Speedway's 2010 racing season, Adam Leslie came through with a top 15 finish in his first ever race in the Sportsman Division.

Adam Leslie had his sportsman debut on April 24, at Merrittville Speedway in Thorold Ontario. It was a rough start to the 2010 season due to an early incident on the first lap of Adam's heat. The red flag was flown for the wreck as it took almost ten minutes to get Adams car and the 68 of Curtis Freisen separated. All the damage caused was cosmetic and Adam was able to continue the heat race, finishing 7.

After repairing the cosmetic damage the car was ready for the first feature event of the season. A 50 lap king of the crates event, the first of three races to determine the king of the crates.

Starting 32nd in the field of 32 cars, Adam had a lot of work ahead of him to make this night worth while. With only one caution on lap 43 of the 50 lap feature Adam made the night a solid one with a finish of 15.

"Gaining 17 spots in my first ever feature event is quite uplifting," remarked Leslie after his first ever sportsman event. "I think I could have gained more spots but the car seemed to get really loose in the second half of the race."

Leslie is back in action next week at Merrittville Speedway for the season opener. Visit www.merrittvillespeedway.com for more details!
