VP'S UNLEADED RACE FUELS POWER CANADIANS

NEWARK, DE (April 9, 2010) VP Racing Fuels wants to assure racers in Canada that it has race proven unleaded formulas immediately available from the Atlantic Maritimes to British Columbia. VP’s assurance was prompted by a delay in the final ruling by the Canadian government on whether or not to indefinitely extend an exemption that allows leaded racing fuels to be used in competition vehicles. The final ruling is not expected until the 2010 racing season is well underway, placing track operators and competitors at significant risk if they allow and/or use leaded fuels.

“VP has been building championship-winning unleaded fuels since 1990,” said Jim Kelly, VP’s Eastern Regional Manager. “Among our most popular unleaded fuels is SVO5, designed for drag racing and the power behind every European Pro Stock Champion since 2004. We also offer a variety of other unleaded products not only for drag racing but oval track, powersports and all other forms of racing. These include MS109, which makes more power than any unleaded fuel on the market, along with MS109E, MS103, C10, MS93 and Rally Plus. In addition, VP has motorcycle-specific fuels readily available, including M8-1, used extensively throughout Europe in FIM competition, and MR PR04.1, the fuel of choice for AMA Supercross and Motocross champions.”

Special arrangements have been made for the Super DIRTcar series, for which VP is the Official Spec Fuel. Until the leaded race fuel exemption is resolved, the only fuels allowed in Super DIRTcar competition in Canada are VP’s D109 and D99 unleaded. Both are for exclusive use by DIRT competitors and are available for sale only through VP-designated trackside vendors for DIRT racing at sanctioned DIRT tracks.

“We’re hopeful this will be a short-lived inconvenience and Environment Canada will see fit to extend the exemption as proposed after the 60-day comment period,” Kelly added. “In the meantime, our unleaded fuels are in good supply and there’s no reason for racers to miss a beat.”
