NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES DRIVER DEREK WHITE TRUCKING TO KANSAS

April 25, 2010. This coming weekend NASCAR Canadian Tire Series driver Derek White and the DPW/OCR Gas Bar Race Team will put their preparations for the season opener at Delaware Speedway on hold as they travel to Kansas Speedway to participate in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event.

While this will be the first time the driver from Kahnawake, Quebec takes on the challenge of the 1.5 mile Kansas Speedway oval, White does have Truck racing experience to draw upon. Last season in addition to his limited schedule of five NASCAR Canadian Tire Series races Derek White also took the green flag for Truck Series events at Martinsville Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway and made impressive showings.

Not surprisingly at his first Truck series events White started deep in the field at both races, but once the competition began he moved up through the field finishing eight spots higher than he began at Martinsville and five places ahead at the Phoenix event.

As soon as competition is completed at Kansas Derek White and the DPW/OCR Gas Bar Race Team will be heading home to complete preparations for their first full season in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series including a series test day at Delaware Speedway near London, ON Tuesday May 18th. Fans are welcome to watch the action and admission is free.

Derek White will pilot the #96 Chevrolet Truck in this weeks Kansas event that takes place on Sunday May 2nd and can be seen on SPEED TV beginning at 12:30PM Eastern Time. Derek White and the #99 DPW/OCR Gas Bar Team will open the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series racing season on Saturday June 5th at Delaware Speedway just outside London, ON. The team will compete in all thirteen series races this year. As in years past all NCATS races will also be seen on TSN with the complete broadcast schedule to be announced shortly.
