Rick Baker, aka “The Hitman”, of Ridgeway, Ontario, will be driving the #78 Super Late Model, co-owned with Bruce Thompson. This will be Baker’s second year with this co-owned team in the Ontario Dirt Late Model (ODLM) series. Baker has raced for over 20 years in various divisions, including Asphalt Modified, Dirt Pro Stock and BRP Can-Am 360 Late Models.
The chassis, a Rayburn chassis, has been completely reworked, sandblasted and powder coated with all new sheet metal, nosepiece, and trim.
All lettering and designs were created by Primal Graphics of Ridgeway, Ontario. The 406 engine went back to Performance Engines of Jennison, Michigan and was reworked and dynoed for the upcoming season.
Gary Smith Racing Parts of Corfu, New York has provided numerous new parts and the car should be fast and competitive on opening day. Castle Products and Pennzoil also provides sponsorship for the team.
Baker is looking forward to competing against a strong field of drivers in the upcoming ODLM Series and hopes to improve on his 6th place points standing in 2009.
