International Star Andrew Ranger to Debut with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints at Granby.

SYRACUSE, NY – In one of the most anticipated appearances in the 26 year history of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, Quebec’s own Andrew Ranger will pilot a Parent family owned sprint this Friday night at Autodrome Granby.  Hailing from Roxton Pond, Quebec, the 22 year old star has been regarded as one of Quebec’s top international motorsports stars.

Ranger is the son of Quebec DIRT Modified legend Robert Ranger and has been making headlines since 2002 when he was crowned Canadian Formula A Karting Champion.  Ranger competed with the Champ Car World Series in 2005 where he was the youngest driver in history to earn a podium finish of second.  Most recently he took home a solid third place finish behind Carl Edwards and Mark Ambrose in the Nationwide Series race held this past Sunday at Circuit Gilles Villenueve.

While the young phenom might be new to world of winged sprint cars, he has logged many laps around the Granby half-mile in a modified.  The Parent family will be fielding another Les Constructions Ultra #25 sprint to be a teammate to Michael Parent who currently is sitting fourth in the overall Lucas Oil ESS point standings.

“This is a real thrill to have Andrew racing with ESS at Granby.” noted ESS President Chuck Miller.  “He is one of the best motorsports talents to ever come from the province of Quebec, he’s known all around the globe and he will be in an ESS winged sprinter this Friday.  We just can’t thank the Parent family enough for putting this together.”

Gates open at 5:00 with racing scheduled to get underway at 7:30.  Andrew Ranger will be alongside ESS stars such as Steve Poirier, Justin Barger, Lance Yonge, Parent, Tommy Wickham, Jeff Cook, Brian McDonald, Lee Ladouceur, Alain Bergeron, Chuck Hebing, Anthony Cain and many, many more.  Not that $2,000 to win for the Northwood 2 Construction/LaSalle Motorsports Canadian Sprint Car Series, Fondations 4 Saisons A-Main will be excitement enough!  Having Andrew Ranger in the field will keep the French-Canadian fans on their feet.
