NASCAR Canadian Tire Series - White Has Another Learning Experience

“I really messed up!”

Those were Racin’ Jason White’s first words in a post race comment.White went to say. “If this is a sophomore jinx, then I am going to do what ever it takes to stop it right now!”The pride of Sun Peaks, British Columbia, and last year’s NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Rookie of the year, was clearly frustrated after a disappointing 16th place finish at the Vortex Brake Pads 200 in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series on Saturday evening at Mosport Speedway.

Racin’ Jason White in his A&W #21 car qualified 17th with a time of 22.691. Although White was not satisfied with a 17th place qualifier he was barely missed qualifying ten places higher in 7th spot. The car that qualified in 7th spot chalked up a time of 22.024, barely half a second faster than Jason and his A&W 21 car.

The A&W Drive Thru Pit Crew, once again kept White’s car in the race from start to finish. Jason, however, feels that he let his team down. Jason recalls that about Lap 138, “I thought I had a flat tire. So, I went into the pits and was told there was nothing wrong. My mistake cost us 2 laps.” “That is not going to happen again!”“We are just going to have to work a little bit harder to narrow gap between where we are now and a top five finish.

We have been running hard and running good, in just about every race this year. We have just missed by a small margin some big time finishes.” Jason said in post remarks.“I know our team can do this!” He continued. With these remarks, the rest of field has been warned. “Be prepared! Racin’ Jason is hunting checkered flags!

The quest for victory continues next week when the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series heads to the challenging Circuit de Trois-Rivieres in Quebec for the third of its four road-course events on the 2009 schedule. The GP3R 100, part of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres, is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 16.

A&W food services of Canada, is Canada's original hamburger quick service restaurant chain, and today is one of its fastest growing. The first A&W drive-in restaurant in Canada opened on Portage Avenue in Winnipeg in 1956. The combination of great tasting burgers, onion rings and frosted mugs of famous A&W Root Beer served by friendly carhops was an instant hit. Since then, A&W has continued to grow and evolve with the times, expanding into over 700 locations from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland. At the heart of that growth is the fact that, while so much of our world has changed, the simple things that made A&W so popular in its early days are the same today. We still serve A&W Root Beer in frosted mugs. Our onion rings are made fresh from whole onions every day. With a rich history behind us, we look forward to an even more exciting future ahead of us. A&W is expanding all across Canada, with particular emphasis on Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic.

On your way to the next NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES race, be sure to "CRUISE " into an A&W near you!! See you at the races!!
