Rain delays PMRA and Quick 32 racing at Grand Bend... Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals to be run August 9

GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (August 8, 2009) – Constant rains during the first day of the Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals have delayed Saturday’s program of racing at the Grand Bend Motorplex. The event will be held in its entirety Sunday, August 9.

Along with round four in the 2009 Pro Modified Racing Association series, and round three in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, featuring Top Dragster and Top Sportsman action with quick six and seven-second cars, the event will feature a four-car Alcohol Funny Car match race, Jet Truck action, and a Supercharged V8 Drag Bike. Also on tap will be the Grand Bend Motorplex Top Dragster and Top Sportsman Series and some great racing action in the Thunder series and Junior programs.

For the loyal fans who ventured to Grand Bend Saturday, track management will honor all admission and parking passes for Sunday’s racing. Qualifying for the PMRA and the Quick 32 Sportsman classes will begin at 11:00 a.m., with round one of eliminations to begin about 2:30 p.m.
