Villenueve Completes Successful Canadian Touring Car Test

Toronto, Ontario, CanadaAugust 3, 2009 - The Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Presented By Toyo Tires confirmed its status as Canada’s Premiere Touring Car Championship with a recent successful test by Jacques Villenueve.

“It was wonderful to meet Jacques at one of our events earlier in the season,” stated John Bondar, President of the Championship, “and we were honoured when he returned to present trophies during our official podium ceremony.”The morning of the test was spent changing springs and adjusting shocks to optimize balance.

Jacques spent a short time getting comfortable with the characteristics of the car and then got up to speed very quickly. After about ten laps, he was able to establish a top five lap time.“We are working on putting together a program for Jacques to compete in at least one Championship event before the end of the season,” continued John Bondar. “It will be very exciting to see Jacques competing in the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Presented By Toyo Tires.”
