Les Constructions Ultra back with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints for 2010.
SYRACUSE, NY – The Parent family and their Granby, Quebec, Canada based Les Constructions Ultra continues to be a big supporter of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) and in 2010 their contribution marks the largest ever. For the past few seasons they have backed the nightly halfway leader of each A-Main, this year they are adding to the very lucrative Canadian Sprint Car Series point fund and also sponsoring the nightly frisbee toss to the fans.
When you think of the Parents of course the first name that comes to mind is Michael Parent, the chauffeur of the familiar #25 that has traveled to every ESS show for years. The now 20 year old has come from being the 2006 rookie of the year to taking fifth in the overall points standings for the Lucas Cup in 2009. He has become one of the most consistent drivers on the tour with the goals of his first ever A-main win and overall championship being sought this year.
Les Constructions Ultra is just coming off their 15th Anniversary celebration and continues to grow in all facets of construction throughout Quebec. Not only is Gilles Parent and his company tremendous backers of ESS but also a major sponsor at the nearby Autodrome Granby located mere minutes from their business. The Canadian Sprint Car Series is title sponsored by Northwood 2 Construction/LaSalle Motorsports but with help from many associate sponsors such as Les Construction Ultra the point fund has already swelled to well over $10,000. Last year Jeff Cook just nipped Alain Bergeron for the title and took home $2,000 for his efforts. Once again the top 15 drivers in points from the events held north of the border and at Mohawk Int’l Raceway will take home from the lucrative point fund.
Also during each ESS event, frisbees are signed by all A-Main starters and then thrown into the grandstand. If your driver wins you receive an ESS/Lucas Oil prize pack as well as get your picture taken by the winner. This years frisbees are donated by the Parents.
The 27th Anniversary Tour will kick off Memorial Day Weekend (May 29 and 30) with the seventh annual Earl Halaquist Memorial at the Fonda Speedway followed by the first of three holiday weekend visits at the Utica-Rome Speedway. The first two events in Canada will then start up the very next weekend with traditional trips to Autodromes Granby and Drummond June 4th and 5th.
