RYAN LITT: MUST SEE AT SALEM

by Tommy Goudge (May 6, 2010) – Ryan Litt and the #07 BS&B Radiator/OTC Tools Sprint Car team are all geared up and ready for a trip to Southern Indiana this Saturday, May 8. While the twenty-three year old London, Ontario resident competed in four February events in Florida with the TBARA series, Saturday’s event at Salem Speedway marks the beginning of his and the team’s “regular season”.

When Ryan hits the track with the #07 Claxton powered Beast chassis on Saturday, it will be with a brand new sanctioning body called the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series. Ryan and the team are excited to be a part of the new series, with television coverage in sixty million households thanks to Comcast.

“This is one of our most anticipated seasons to date,” says Ryan. “We are starting 2010 off with a brand new car, new paint scheme, and (we’re) competing in a new series. My goal for the year is to win races and run consistently. Hopefully with the added exposure of television, we can attract more fans to our sport, and pick up sponsors.”

Ryan and the team are hoping to get back to contending for wins after a sub-par end to their 2009 season.

“Last year was going to end up one of our better years, but the wreck at Toledo in June which destroyed our primary car really hurt us,” recalls Ryan. “We were forced to run our backup car which we had no time with. It turns out that (backup) frame was a copy and some of the key components were modified, which is one reason we struggled so much to get it consistent.”

Ryan and the team spent the off-season preparing a brand new car for the 2010 season, and testing last month showed the new mount has promise.

“I’m hoping our new car will be fast right out of the trailer (at Salem),” says Ryan. “We tested at Delaware Speedway in April, and on old tires from last year we were only three tenths off our current track record. It felt good and comfortable so let’s hope it translates well to the high banks.”

Ryan has competed three times at the ultra high-banked .555 mile Salem Speedway before, twice with a wing over his head. In each of those winged races, he finished 2nd.

"Salem has always been a really good track for us," says Ryan. "In my mind we should have won there last year, but Chad (Goff) started up front and took off from the pack. I closed the gap to about half a straightaway in the late stages of the race. Going into Saturday I just want to have a strong qualifying run, and get a good starting spot for the race, and hopefully come out on top."
