DIRTCAR: Chris Raabe update - May 19, 2009

Raabe Remains Consistent With a Pair of Top 5 Finishes
By Craig Revelle – Finish Line Web Design // May 19, 2009

This past weekend, Chris Raabe and the 01 team had a schedule that consisted of double features at the Can-Am Motorsports Park in Lafargeville, New York on Friday night, as well as the regularly scheduled event on Saturday at the Thunder Alley Speed Park in Evans Mills, New York.

The first feature on Friday night at Can-Am was the remaining 20 laps of last Friday night’s feature that was postponed due to rain.  5 laps were completed before the skies opened up and the rain forced the night to be over.  Chris restarted the race in 5th place, and quickly moved his way into 3rd.  A tacky, but extremely rough racetrack made things difficult to maneuver, and by the end of the event, Chris finished in 4th place.

The feature for Friday evening proved to be a little better, as Chris moved from his 13th place starting position, and once again quickly worked his way towards the front of the pack.  The track crew did a great job in grooming the track prior to the night’s feature races, and was much smoother than the earlier feature race.  When the checkered flag fell Chris had climbed all the way up to the 3rd position.

With Friday night’s program in the books, the 01 team headed back to their Kingston, Ontario based shop and prepared for Saturday night’s racing at the Thunder Alley Speed Park.  Unfortunatley, Mother Nature had different plans, as a steady morning and afternoon rain forced the track officials to cancel the night’s racing activities.

The attention now turns to this coming weekend, as the 01 team will prepare the Scott Industrial Services, Kingston RV, Tyroute Telus, Corcoran Excavating, McColman Media, Kwik Load Products, Canadian Tire Cataraqui, Kingston Hyundai, Word for the World Ministries, Aaron’s Sales & Leasing, Endura Paints, Brunet Plumbing, Waste Management and Finish Line Web Design sponsored TEO car for another race at the Can-Am Motorsports Park.  The team will race Can-Am on both Friday night, as well as Saturday night, as the Thunder Alley track takes a scheduled hiatus.  Saturday will be the kick-off to the SUNY Canton Series for the Sportsman cars.

As we get through the month of May, we want to remind all of the fans and friends of the 01 team that our new team apparel will be arriving shortly.  You can stop by the 01 trailer and make your purchase, or you can purchase them online at www.chrisraabe.com.

Speaking of chrisraabe.com, we will be updating the website soon, and changing the overall appearance of the website.  We think it will be more user friendly to our viewers, and like everything else, sometimes a change is necessary to liven things up.
