THE CASTROL TOURING CARS ROAR INTO SHANNONVILLE

May 27, 2009 - Shannonville OntarioThe Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship presented by Toyo Tires heads to famed Shannonville Motorsports Park, just east of Belleville Ontario, May 30 & 31st for The Annual Spring Trillium Trophy Races hosted by Deutscher Automobil Club.

This will be Round two of the championship’s 2009 season. It was just two short weeks ago when 36 of Canada's Best Drivers Racing Today's Hottest Touring Cars started the season schedule at Mosport International Raceway. Fans were treated to intense racing action all weekend long.

Acura, BMW, Saab, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, Chevrolet, Mazda, Toyota and Subaru are just some of the brands being showcased by the competitors this weekend. We invite all racing fans to come witness some of the hottest racing action in Ontario and cheer on your favourite marque.

Round one Touring Class feature race winner, Anthony Rapone, in his Honda Civic SI will be trying to repeat his past performance as will Super Touring Class winner Nigel Krikorian, piloting his Can-Jam prepared Subaru WRX STI.

The CCTCC will be the feature race series this weekend with a full 30-minute practice session, a 30-minute qualifying session and a thrilling 20-minute race on Saturday as well as a 20 minute warm up and capping off the weekend with a 40 minute feature race on Sunday.

The Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Presented By Toyo Tires is Canada's Premiere Touring Car Series and features Canada's Best Drivers Racing Today's Hottest Touring Cars. The Championship is showcased at eight event weekends in Quebec and Ontario will marque events at Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres and Honda Indy Toronto.
