Brighton Speedway: Fan Appreciation Night

BRIGHTON, ON -  The Campbellford Chrysler Car Load Night ,on May 23rd , at Brighton Speedway featured the always loved Brighton Automotive Fan Appreciation night.  Intermission includes a meet and greet with all of the drivers, for all of the fans in attendance.   The front straight is lined with all of the cars and their drivers who take a few minutes to sign autographs, hand out giveaways and thank the fans for their on-going support.

“I love Fan Appreciation night.  I get to go out on the track, meet up with my fans, show them my thanks, and celebrate all that is dirt track racing at Brighton Speedway.  It reminds me that we are a family with a common interest – grassroots motorsport racing,” said Bev Rosebush, of Belleville, who drives the #91 Bill’s John’s Comp 4.  Bev was giving her fans pink power bands that read Race for the Cure, a perfect match for the theme of her car’s paint scheme and decals refelcting the Pink Ribbon campaign.

Others who had a great night on the track included Roger Croft, of Shannonville, in his #08 Bill’s Johns Comp 4, Doug Anderson, of Trenton, in his #72 Brighton Automotive Pro Stock, and Warren Mowat, of Trenton, in his #46 Picture This Pure Stock.  All three gentlemen took home double wins on the night, taking their qualifying heat and the feature in their respective class.  Anderson’s win included taking the first of the Hotch’s Auto Parts Triple Crown races for his class.  Charlie Sandercock, #57 in the Bainer’s Radiator Canadian Modified, didn’t finish his qualifier because of mechanical difficulties, but overcame them and drove into Victory Lane for his feature win.

The dynamic duo of Paul and Chris Reid, of Trenton, took the inaugural feature for the Gord’s Water Vantastics, and former racer Brady Kelman, of Trenton,  took home the checker in the #10 Picture This Pure Stock of Chris Turner,  that he drove in the Pure Stock Mechanics Race.
