NASCAR Canadian Tire Series: Bourque has solid run in the Aaron's Dream Machine at Mosport

OTTAWA, ONTARIO (June 16, 2009) – Pierre Bourque opened his 2009 racing season with a solid 13th-place result in Sunday’s NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race at Mosport International Raceway. The Ottawa, Ontario resident started 20th in his first outing behind the wheel of the newly-unveiled No. 29 Aaron’s Dream Machine Dodge and made progress throughout the 51-lap race around the legendary road course, located northeast of Toronto.

“I’m extremely happy with how things went at Mosport,” said Bourque. “There was a big contingent of people from Aaron’s at the track and we really enjoyed our time with them. It was a beautiful day and the racing was great. They had a blast and they were very supportive. It was a superb start to our relationship and I’m looking forward to my next outing in the No. 29 Aaron’s Dream Machine at the Edmonton Indy race weekend, July 24-25.”

Bourque’s Mosport race was the first of three scheduled events in which he’ll have primary sponsorship from Aaron’s in 2009, the other (in addition to Edmonton) is slated for Saskatoon, Saskatchewan’s Auto Clearing Motor Speedway on July 29.

In terms of Bourque’s race on Sunday, he was pleased given that it was his first time back behind the wheel of one of Whitlock Motorsports’ Dodges since last August in Montreal. “For our first race of the year, it was a great run,” continued Bourque. “We advanced seven positions from the start of the race. The No. 29 Aaron’s Dream Machine looked as good at the end of the race as it did at the start, which means we had a clean, competitive race. I have to thank Whitlock Motorsports for preparing the car so well and my crew chief Kris Reddick for calling the shots in the pits.”

In addition to Bourque’s new association with Aaron’s, the Mosport event was also his first race in support of Canada’s Military Families Fund (MFF). Bourque will donate all of his NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race winnings in 2009 to the MFF.
