THE MOPAR CANADIAN NATIONALS ADDS ALCOHOL FUNNY CAR “CLASH OF THE TITANS” MATCH RACE, CANADA’S FASTEST TOP FUEL BIKE and the BALLISTIC EAGLE JET MOTOR

South Western Ontario is blessed with some of the very best Alcohol Funny Car drivers in the world and two of them call GBM their home track. The first is Rob Atchison, a 3 time IHRA Funny Car Champion and the second is Paul Noakes last years Runner Up for the IHRA Championship, and a 2 time winner of the Mopar Canadian Nationals. “I have loved watching these guys compete ever since we opened the track 14 years ago and it wouldn’t seem right not to have them here.” says track owner Paul Spriet . “So when IHRA lost Funny car this year due to a lack of sponsorship funding we knew we had to do something to showcase these amazing drivers. We also wanted to do something for their fans as this is the only time this year they can see them race close to home”. “The cool part,” says GBM general manager Ron Biekx “is this will be two runs head to head to see who can call himself the King of AFC in London”. Both runs will be contested during the Pro qualifying sessions on Sat at 3pm and then again during the “NIGHT of FIRE” at 7pm.

Ever consider getting on a two wheeled rocket? Well, we have two of them at this year’s event. The first is a Top Fuel motorcycle, you launch it with only the back tire, steer only with your body and go 231MPH in 6.08 seconds. That is what Geoff Pollard of London, Ontario does. In fact he is the fastest man in Canadian history on a Top Fuel bike and he is going to show you how it’s done during the Pro Qualifying rounds on Saturday at 3pm & 7pm.

In contrast to Geoff, is Kevin Martin’s Ballistic Eagle Jet Motorcycle which puts on a great flame show and then accelerates entirely from the thrust of the jet engine. While the start is more controlled the thing is a monster by the time it crosses the finish line at 200MPH. Kevin will be performing during all three Pro Qualifying sessions Friday night at 7pm and Saturday at 3pm & 7pm.

In addition to these competitors The MOPAR CANADIAN NATIONALS - Eastern Canada’s Biggest Drag race will feature 320MPH Top Fuel Dragsters, 240MPH Pro Modifieds, 220MPH Mountain Motor Pro Stocks, an Outlaw PMRA Pro Modified program, and the 220MPH Xtreme Machine Jet Kenworth truck, plus Fireworks and hundreds of other racing vehicles.
