Shannonville SoloSprint Update

Wow, what a weekend. After four events, Katie Ewald is in fourth place in the overall Novice Championship. Saturday was good with a third place for Frank Ewald and a fifth place finish for Katie. Sunday turned out to be a perfect day for the track with Frank in second and Katie in third.
"We continued to learn a lot and the car is doing exactly what we need it to do, run consistently," said Frank Ewald. "It was the first time at Shannonville Nelson for Katie and I. It seemed like we were always at the redline and yet the corners were so close it didn't really make sense to shift. We learned a lot about communication. Sunday was the Shannonville Pro track and it's a great layout that we really enjoyed. It was also the first time either of us had driven this configuration. The Dad and Daughter competition really heated up as I was running consistent 85 second laps with Katie starting off with an 88 second sessions during her first two outings. She was reducing her lap times each outing. The gap is closing very fast"
Chris and John Paczynski were the event organizers and they had everything very well organized as things moved efficiently through the day. Frank and Katie also want to thank Paul McFadden, the SPDA SoloSprint ambassador, who truly represents the sport and has been a huge supporter and the Associate Racing Team, a wonderful Honda crew. The father/daughter duo had some tire issues and they came through with a set of tires.
The team would also like to thank their sponsors, Paul Coffey Nissan who provide them with access to parts and technical support and Can-alignment, who helped sut up the car just prior to the event.
